THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VIEWPOINTS OF FRANCIACORTA

curiosity

Visit Franciacorta, an experience among flavors, relaxation and landscapes that remain carved from the heart. We went for you to discover the most beautiful panoramic points of our territory: here is a precious exclusive guide!

Panorama in Franciacorta. Santuario della Stella (Cellatica)

Among the spiritual destinations preferred by the Brescians and a place so dear to St. Paul VI, this beautiful sanctuary stands out among hills and vineyards giving a magnificent glance that ranges from Franciacorta to the city. Immersed in nature and accessible by a simple walk for everyone, the interior of the Church houses riches of the highest value: among these, the Madonna with Child of Romanino.

Santa Maria del Giogo (lake Iseo)

Splendid panoramic point above Iseo, with an extraordinary view of the Trompia Valley and Lake Iseo up to Franciacorta. To be visited especially during the sunset, when the sky turns red and the whole area takes on a very special charm. Here there is also a Sanctuary, named after Santa Maria del Gioco, and a refreshment point. The easiest access route is the one indicated by Polaveno, which introduces us to the magical place through a road crowned by the saints of the Via Crucis.

Santuario della Madonna della Ceriola (Monte Isola)

We stay on Lake Iseo, this time on Monte Isola, the largest lake island in Europe and one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Among the many attractions of the island stands the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Ceriola, which rises majestically on the summit. It is one of the most scenic places of the lake, with a 360 ° view from the mountains to the hills of Franciacorta.

The Sanctuary is served by the minibus. However we recommend the climb on foot, between wonderful and unforgettable sights.

Monte Orfano

We move now to the southern area of Franciacorta, between the municipalities of Erbusco, Rovato, Coccaglio and Cologne. Monte Orfano is a hill so dear to the inhabitants of the area, an oasis of peace and spirituality that on clear days offers a breathtaking panoramic view. Numerous pedestrian paths leading to the top, all well signposted.

As Cappuccini Resort we are very linked to Monte Orfano. Our structure, surrounded by the romantic greenery among the most beautiful vineyards of Franciacorta, waiting for you for moments of couple or for your most important events. Find out more about our resort.

ITALIAN BEAUTIES TO BE DISCOVERED: ROVATO

curiosity

Access point to the south of Franciacorta and a few steps from Lake Iseo, the City of Rovato offers many beauties to be discovered.

Rovato: Piazza Cavour and the Municipal Palace

Our visit starts from the central Piazza Cavour, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful squares in Italy. With the monumental semicircular palace, the stone paving and the clock tower that soars majestically, this square is one of the masterpieces of design by the famous architect from Brescia Rodolfo Vantini. Favorite destination for happy hour, in the evening gets even more charm.

From Piazza Cavour we walk towards Via Lamarmora. Here we can admire the Palazzo Municipale, a building built under Venetian rule in the 15th century. Many frescoes inside, especially in the Sala del Consiglio Comunale, a real jewel of Venetian art.
A curiosity: according to tradition, in this palace lived the Moretto, one of the greatest masters of the early Brescian Renaissance.

A corner of paradise: Monte Orfano

We move now to Monte Orfano, the Franciacorta hill for excellence that offers one of the most striking views of the area. Several stages await us: we start with the Church of Santo Stefano degli Appestati (via Santo Stefano), a very well-preserved structure that houses ancient frescoes. A golden opportunity to regenerate body and spirit: after the visit, how not to take a moment on the bench to enjoy the surrounding landscape?

From there, continue on foot to Monte Orfano, not without a stop at the Church of San Michele (via Announced by Cemmo). Another small treasure chest of art and spirituality declared a national monument.

‍From the Church of San Michele it takes only a few minutes to reach one of the symbols of Rovato, the Convent of the SS. Announced (Via Monte Orfano 9). Built in 1449 and for centuries a focal point of the religiousness of Northern Italy, in addition to the beautiful architecture with loggia and cloister, it boasts a wonderful Church with a cycle of frescoes depicting the stories of the Order of the Virgin Mary. And a treasure of exception: the Annunciation painted by Romanino.

What are you waiting for? Come and discover Rovato and its riches!

How to reach Rovato

Rovato is served by the two Rovato (A4 Milan – Venice) and Rovato Sud (A35BreBeMi) motorway toll booths. Alternatively, it can be reached by train (train service offered by Trenord, Milan-Brescia or Bergamo-Brescia line).
